I know it is still early in the year and anything can happen. Remember Last Year!?! Let me ask you this Question: What happens if 3 Non-BCS schools go undefeated and all of the other BCS schools have at least one lose? #15 BYU, #22 UTAH, #21 FRESNO STATE and #20 EAST CAROLINA (all currently ranked and undefeated) three of the four could be undefeated and in the top 12 at years end. BYU could have two PAC-10 wins and A Win over ranked #22 UTAH UTAH has a road win at #24 Michigan and a possible win over ranked #15 BYU FRESNO STATE-has a road win at Rutgers and Possible win at home against #10 Wisconsin of the Big Ten. EAST CAROLINA- has already beat TWO rank teams in #15 Va.Tech (ACC) and #8 West Virginia (BigEast) Everyone Will have Quality wins if they are undefeated and they should all get into BCS games or the Championship game. The Shame is that If this happens, the BCS Conferences will NOT let more than one into a BCS game not to mention the BCS Championship Game™ THE REALITY IS THAT A NON-BCS CONFERENCE SCHOOL WILL NEVER WIN A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AS LONG AS THE BCS CONFERENCES ARE IN POWER. IF everyone at D1-A(bowl championship sub-division) doesn’t have a chance, no matter who slim, to win a CHAMPIONSHIP each year There CAN BE NO TRUE CHAMPION in College Football. Letter to the Editor: Rush to judgment? A recent caustic editorial titled BCS is not the business of Congress in your newspaper criticized three hardworking and fair-minded U.S. Congressman for requesting an investigation of the unfair trade policies and practices of the BCS. The BCS has a stranglehold on the major college postseason football championship. Postseason championship play is a multi-million dollar business—over $136 million dollars in 2007 alone. By design, and by charter, this relatively small group of “big boys” chose to freeze out the competition. To say that possible antitrust and unfair trade activity is not important just because this time the issue is wrapped around college football is myopic at best. So my question to the Editor of the Athens Banner Harold is—if the “big boys” who control the newsprint world decided to freeze you out of your business, would you be so quick to judge? The hundreds of people I interact with on a regular basis believe the congressman’s actions are right on target, rational and honorable. A crackdown on the BCS is long overdue. Hello Everyone This BCS has done it again!!! It has ignored the fans. The latest ESPN poll shows that the 92% of fans want a playoff. 70% prefer at least a 16 team playoff. Over 40,000 Fans had responded to the poll. The Plus-1 fell on its face because it was doomed from the start. It was only suggested to calm everyone down. Thus, allowing the BCS to say, “Heh! We tried but no one was interested. “ Sure, no one was interested because the BCS was only offering BS. A proposal was sent forth that they were sure would be rejected. You can’t have a playoff that runs into late January, because that would be in direct competition to the NFL post-season. Doing that would cut dramatically into the TV revenue potentially for the Plus-1 and it would draw football into the winter semester. It’s a no wonder why the proposal was not popular. Ask yourself, why would a Mid-major be in-favor of something that would only benefit the Big-6? They wouldn’t. If the only change that is going to be made is going to leave them out of the cash again, they would be crazy to vote for something that would leave them even further behind in the money chase. In the end they would rather have what they can get without giving more to the Big-6. I could go on forever, and probably will over the next few weeks. One thing that I can assure you is that The MCF Championship™ will come to pass, sooner rather than Later. We The fans demand it. I seem to remember a tea party in Boston a few hundred years ago. The revolution started because of, taxation without representation. Arrogant leaders that were out of touch with the common man dictated from lofty perch’s out of harms way. In the end it didn’t turn out very well for the Leaders, but The Greatest National on the Planet was soon to begin ist march for freedom and representation. The BCS has become the Monarchy. They shall be defeated. A REVOLUTION is in order. The BCS will continue to do whatever it wants until we (THE FANS) do something about it. More next week.

The Associated Press WASHINGTON- Forget government corruption or corporate fraud. Three members of Congress want the Justice Department to investigate whether college football's Bowl Championship Series is an illegal enterprise. Reps. Neil Abercrombie, D-Hawaii, Lynn Westmoreland, R-Ga., and Mike Simpson, R-Idaho, are introducing a resolution rejecting the oft-criticized bowl system as an illegal restriction on trade because only the largest universities compete in most f the major bowl games.The resolution would require Justice's antitrust division to investigate whether the system violate federal law. The measure also would put Congress on the record as supporting a college football playoff. Ambercrombie said the matter s worthy of federal review because college football s big business with hundreds of millions of dollars at stake. "It's money, That's what this is all about," he said

Hello Everyone, March is now upon us and March Madness is just around the corner. The excitement and anticipation are building by the minute. Over 300 teams have been battling all season long to be one of the 65 teams in the tournament, that will determine a True Champion!!! We need to fight for the same thing in College Football!!! Remember, the Super Bowl?!? How exciting was that!!! Did anyone hear the media or anyone else say that the NY Giants did not deserve to be Super Bowl Champs. The Giants after all were wild-cards. A Mid-Major by college football standards. They fought through a playoff, on the road, to be Champions. 65 College basketball teams will do the same this month . For sure,we will see, a Cinderella run into the sweet sixteen or big eight and that is GREAT for College basketball as a whole. We are a Country built by Champions. WOW!!! 14 Crazy Weeks!!!

It has been a very exciting College Football Season. Every week brought us exciting competition and incredible upsets!!! Yet, The BCS has continued to make a mess of it. Sure Ohio State (11-1) Big Ten Champion and LSU (11-2) SEC Champion are Great and Deserving Teams. But, It is argued that Virginia Tech(11-2)ACC Champion, Oklahoma(11-2)Big-12 Champion, USC(11-2) Pac-10 Champion, Hawaii(12-0) WAC Champion, Georgia(11-2) SEC, Missouri(11-2) Big-12, Kansas(11-1) Big-12, Arizona State(10-2) Pac-10, West Virginia(10-2) Big East Champion, All have a legitimate claim for the right to play in for the National Title under the current system. Sadly, the world will never know who the best really was. Subjection should be left to literature class and not on the field.

The Current system has nothing to do about a True College Football Champion and everything to do about power, control and money for a selected few.

Let’s be frank and honest, Hawaii or and other Mid-major will never play for a National Championship under the current program. In order for these school to even get to a BCS game they have to prove themselves not over just one season but two complete seasons of perfection or near perfection.(very, very difficult). In order to accomplish this, they will resort to dumbing down their non-conference schedules in order to go undefeated and have a chance at a BCS bowl game.

The Six original BCS conferences will not schedule the Mid-majors for fear of an embarrassing loss and will schedule 1AA teams just like the Mid-majors. Who wants to waste there time seeing Ohio State beat Weber State 1 million to 0. This is not the direction that Major College Football should take, though it is the Future if it stays with the current system.
